Seraphina’s Shawl

I was able to buy a couple cakes of yarn that had been on my wish list to try a couple moths ago.  The yarn is My Melodyy Wolltraum, and it a lovely gradient yarn that is 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. They have so many lovely gradients, and it make for great light weight shawls! Here is the link if you’d like to check them out! https://www.wolltraumusa.com/pages/frontpage. Note I’m not being paid to share, but as I really enjoyed using it I thought you may like to check it out. 🙂

One of the cakes I got was Happy X-mas, I wanted to have a Christmassy shawl and was hoping to have it done in time to wear but it didn’t quite work out that way. First I had to find a pattern that I liked and as I hadn’t gotten  very big cakes, I was a bit limited in my choices. I finally found a pattern that I liked on a link that lead me to here,  http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/donisfuff/croshawl.html.

The repeat is super easy once you’ve set up the first repeat, and I really enjoyed watching the color gradually change. Unlike some of the recently popular color change yarns this one was much more gradual. I picked the 4pl and it was like 4 threads, and every so often a single thread would be knotted to a new color. The tiny knots or TKs were very exciting! They also blended in very well, there was a few I needed to trim, but is was very effortless way to have the look that I wanted my shawl to have.
